                     Most people have High Security Locks installed to monitor or control the duplication of keys. High Security Locks, as long as the key way or key blank is under patent, they cannot be duplcated with out your consent. The Medeco Freedom M3 key way is under patent until 2021. It replaced the Biaxial key way. You are given a Medeco Card upon installation of your Medeco locks. With this card, you can go to any Medeco Authorized Locksmith and have duplicates made. Some Medeco locksmiths might not carry the Freedom in stock. These locksmiths will have to make an imprint of your card and order the duplicates from Medeco. A Locksmith Shop that carries Medeco will probably have purchased the Medeco Freedom Line and will be able to make copies for you on the spot. And of course you can visit Brad’s Safe and Lock Service, Inc. to have copies made. Just remember to bring your Medeco Card. That is the only way you can receive copies. If you have lost your card, we can write Medeco with your information to have them send you an new one.

                  Assa brand High Security Locks are a little different in the way you obtain copies. Upon installation of Assa High Security Locks, you will be given a signature card to sign. The name and address is recorded on this card along with your signature and the signatures of whom ever you would like to have authorization to receive copies. You are restricted to going to Brad’s Safe and Lock Service, Inc. to obtain copies. This card is kept on file. When you need copies, bring your Sate Drivers License or your State Issued Pictured I.D. Locksmiths that carry the Assa High Security Locks are each given their own Key way. Other Locksmiths would not have Brad’s Safe and Lock Service, Inc. Assa key way. We purchase our own key way from Assa.

                      The two methods of controlling keys between the two brands, gives you the choice of how you want to control duplication of your keys. These are two of the largest and well known brands of High Security Lock manufacturers. I have restaurant accounts where managers leave the business and take the Medeco card with them. If this is a concern or yours, then consider Assa High Security Locks. This leaves the choice of having Brand’s Safe and Lock Service, Inc. control the duplication using Assa High Security Locks. If losing the card or someone taking the card is not an issue, than you can control the duplication of keys using Medeco High Security Locks.
